Applications are now being accepted for the NC Rural Center’s 2016 Rural Economic Development Institute. The nine day leadership development course will be held March 22-24, April 19-21 and May 24-26 in Raleigh.
Since 1989, more than 1,000 rural leaders have participated in this signature leadership program that provides intensive rural community economic development training. The program also provides training for individuals who work extensively with rural communities although they may not live in a rural place.
Each class, consisting of about 35 rural leaders, is geographically and professionally diverse and made up of local elected officials, employees of state and local government, non-profit and faith-based leaders, business owners, volunteers, economic development professionals and other community-minded people.
