Improving Economic Conditions in the Greater Charlotte Region
Do you have thoughts and ideas about how to improve the regional economy?
We encourage you to participate in an online survey to help identify and propose solutions for economic development challenges and opportunities for the Greater Charlotte Region.
The Centralina Economic Development Commission (CEDC) is beginning the update process for the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy “CEDS”. Input from this survey and participation in public meetings will assist in creating an economic development roadmap for our region. The CEDS is a five-year planning document required by the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) to continue as an Economic Development District. In addition, it is a tool to help us capitalize on our strengths and work to overcome weaknesses, creating a more viable and prosperous region. It also presents opportunities to request grants to assist with infrastructure, brownfields, and other economic development projects from EDA and other Federal agencies.
Your input will help us understand what is most important to local residents, leaders and business owners in Anson, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, and Union Counties.
The CEDC was established in 2005, and is a public non-profit organization. Servings as the governing board for the nine-county Economic Development District and administrator for the development and implementation of the CEDS. The CEDS update process will be completed September 30, 2017.
